While America burns, Obama fiddles (or plays golf)

Dear Ones,

Enough is enough!

Lately, more than ever, I have been beset and overwhelmed at the sheer volume and weight of the calamitous news of events plaguing our beloved country.

I know you have felt it too...

Feelings of profound angst, disgust and anger over the steady corruption of the rule of law, the acid diet of lies, and the absolute arrogance shown to the American people by Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Emmanuel and a whole contingent of "progressive" czars.

Our Constitution is being run through the shredder. Our once great Republic is being raped, and our Founding Fathers principles are being dismissed, distorted and usurped.

The United States of America, as ancient Rome once did, is falling headlong into extreme moral decay from which we may possibly never recover.

Dear readers, I know you are smart. I don't have to recap for you all of the recent news coming forth from our Culture of Death. (Besides it would make me sick)

Day after day, I speak with people who appear as stunned sheep without a shepard.

They either don't know, or don't care about our current state of affairs.

(Do you remember Ignorance & Apathy?)

So, what then, as a people are we to do about all of this?

PRAY!

Tea Parties, calling/writing your congressman, reading and keeping well informed, educating your peers.

That's all good. It helps, and is constructive.

But as my dear friend Jeanne says, "It's a God job".

The Bible states in Joel 2:12 " Even now," declares the Lord, "return to me with all you heart, with fasting, and weeping and mourning."

Brothers and sisters, our country is in this predicament because of the failure of many of it's citizens, and many of those in leadership to put God FIRST.

Their priorities are totally out of order, and from disorder flows Chaos.

It has been deeply impressed on my mind, heart, and soul that we need to get on our knees before Almighty God and pray for our country, with repentant hearts, right now.
Gather your family and loved ones, or singly (if that is your situation at home) and pray at the foot of the Cross.
First Covenant Brothers and Sisters who share our Judeo Christian heritage, please also join in as your custom dictates.
WE MUST PRAY for the Divine Mercy of our God upon us.
And He will hear our Prayers, and spare us from the coming Wrath.
Tantum in Deus (Only in God)

Outrageous Irony - K of C and NARAL

Hello Dear Ones,
The building in the photo on the left is Casey Center, 1950 Lafayette Rd., Portsmouth, NH.
It is owned by The Knights of Columbus, St. James Catholic Church Chapter, and serves primarily as their meeting and function center.
You are probably aware that the Knights have a very intense Pro-Life mission. It is one of their largest "reasons for being";
(raison d'etre) for the French minded.
OK, you say. What's the point? Are there evil Bingo wrong-doings going on?
If only it were that benign.
Hang on to your hats gang. This will startle you, or at least I hope it startles you. (See previous blog on Ignorance and Apathy).
On Wednesday June 9th, Casey Center will be hosting Choice Chocolate 2010.
This is a major fund-raiser for NARAL - Pro Choice America.
They are one of the largest and most nefarious Pro-Choice organizations in the world.
When I heard this news today, I didn't want to believe it. I really didn't.
Dear readers, do you see how morally perverted this all is?
Take a moment, let in sink in.
The Knights of Columbus hosting NARAL.
Guess what?
Our inglorious Bishop of Manchester, John McCormack is fully aware of the event, and so far, has remained silent. Now, there's a real surprise.....NOT!
So, I urge you all, people of good conscience, PLEASE take some action.
Pray and/ or Protest against this outrageous irony.
How?
See the info in the email I sent you.
Be Well. Be Safe.

Ignorance & Apathy

Hello Dear Ones,

So, Jack says to Jill: "Have you heard about Ignorance and Apathy?"

To which Jill replies: "I don't know and I don't care."

Wow. Talk about case in point.

If you ask one of your friends or family members to tell you what the opposite of Love is, they will most likely reply, Hate.
And they would be wrong.

The reason is that hate requires an emotional investment, implying that you at least care somewhat to use up some energy on the situation.

Apathy on the other hand means that you do not care in the least.

Jack: "Hey Jill your hair is on fire!"
Jill: "Whatever."
Silly, but you get the point.

I am compelled to write this piece because I have been observing a rising tide of both ignorance and apathy in the encounters of my daily life.

Perhaps you have felt the same thing in your own lives.

A type of malaise, general disinterest, or lack of commitment, or like a camp fire down to it's last embers. And don't forget the excuses...always the excuses.

As far as ignorance goes, a general lack of desire to read, research, learn, or to come to know the truth.
A willingness to accept things at face value, too lazy to scratch below the surface, or to take a position like: "My mind is already made up. Don't confuse me with the facts."

Remember the ostrich with it's head in the sand?

Why all the inertia and spiritual entropy? Where is our passion? Have we really stopped caring?

This attitude problem is becoming more manifest to myself and many others on a daily basis, and it is palpable.

For example, the woman who coordinates volunteers to take time slots for Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament at the 24 hour chapel at our church was practically in tears this past weekend making a plea from the pulpit.
It seems that this once vibrant and thriving ministry has lost so many volunteers that it is on the verge of collapse. Chapels like this are a vanishing breed here in NH.
You should have heard the laundry list of excuses as to why folks are no longer showing up.

From my own experience as local coordinator of Pro-Life prayer volunteers to witness outside of Planned Parenthood (an abortion clinic) here in Manchester.
Same story. Decreasing numbers of dedicated souls. Same excuses. Little passion.

And from the American workplace, a growing lack of satisfaction amongst those fortunate enough to even have jobs.
The result?
Apathy turns to passive aggressive behavior, leading to the worker do his job just proficiently enough to not get fired.

Make no mistake Ladies and Gents, this is a disease of decay.
The only cure is constant prayer.

Pray to know God's will for you. Pray to be open when it is revealed. Pray to have the courage to act.

God Bless you. Be well.

Massachusetts North - NH allows Gay "Marriage"

Hello Dear Ones,

About two days ago, our Pharaoh, Barack Hussein Obama announced that June is National Gay Pride Month here in the USA. Oddly, I was only mildly surprised. This is the usual sort of miasma churning forth from the bowels of the Obama administration, and therefore to be expected.
What I was NOT expecting was the the signing into law by our Governor John Lynch, a Bill allowing Gay "Marriage" in the State of New Hampshire.
You see, Mr. Lynch is on the record in print, audio, and video as saying essentially..."I believe that marriage is the sacred union between one man, and one woman, and as such, will not allow it in NH" (until that time we had Civil Unions.)
NH has become the 6th state in our Republic to enact such a law. (How ironic that ultra-liberal California rejected such a measure).
Despite the fact that over 65% of NH citizens do not support gay marriage, Mr. Lynch crumbled to deep -pocket influence peddlers and lobbyists, mainly from out of state. (Thus earning him the moniker Gov. Flynch.)
Even a call to add a non-binding referendum to the issue in November was soundly rejected. Should not the good citizens of NH be allowed to speak as provided by the Constitution?
Also, although the Bill affords some protections to religious organizations who refuse to officiate based on moral grounds, it fails to protect vendors and service providers who also object on these same grounds.
They would be accused of discrimination, and fined tens of thousands of dollars.
And so, Gov. Lynch has his victory (for now), and we continue our downward slide into the abyss of moral decay.

Illigitimi non carborundum,

Marty

Via con Dios Father Marc

This morning I started my day by reading a headline story in the Union Leader that disturbed me to my core.
After 21 years of inspired and dedicated service, Fr. Marc Montminy, our faith-filled shepard at my parish of St. Marie in Manchester, NH, is to be transferred to another parish located in Exeter, NH.
In yet another example of indecipherably poor judgement, Bishop John McCormick (who is ruining the Diocese of Manchester faster than the Obama administration is ruining the Republic of the United States) made the decision to send Fr. Marc to St. Michael's parish. This in turn will subsequently displace their pastor, my old friend Fr. Marc Drouin, to an as yet unmentioned parish.
Needless to say the news is devastating to all the faithful flock at St. Marie, so many of whose lives have been deeply touched by his sincerity and passion.
Fr. Marc, a conservative and Charismatic priest, poured himself tirelessly into faithful stewardship of a church that empowered the congregation to develop and maintain over 80 separate ministries, including cancer support, Bible study, youth ministry, healing prayer, outreach programs, youth education, music ministry, and many too numerous to mention here.
Fr. Marc drew congregants from most all of the outlying towns of Manchester, many times filling to capacity at the 11:30 mass, a church that seats 1400.
Despite this painful news, our God remains faithful.
I have learned that Fr. Moe Larochelle, cousin to one of my dearest friends, Marc Larochelle, is slated to replace Fr. Marc.
Despite that fact that he has an incredible void to fill, Fr. Moe is cut from the same holy cloth as Fr. Marc, and I have no doubt that over time the legacy will live on in him.

Be well. Be safe.

A good tree bears good fruit

This past Monday evening, my son Philip and I were at the Saint Marie church hall with over 100 other parishioners.

Our mission was to assemble food baskets from an abundance of donated food-stuffs, to give the less fortunate the makings of a complete Thanksgiving dinner.

As I surveyed the mounds of canned-goods, stuffing, vegetables, fruit, coffee, and hand made greeting cards, our Religious Ed Director, Terry, began with an opening prayer. And in that prayer, she mentioned the phrase corporal works of mercy.

It was then that I received the locution and inspiration for this blog entry.

Luke 12:48 states: "When someone has been given much, much will be required in return; and when someone has been entrusted with much, even more will be required."

That evening, our group of volunteers assembled enough complete baskets to feed 130 families in need (about 520 souls). There were even left-overs, yes, left-overs, which were donated to the local food pantry. The miracle of the loaves and fishes crossed my mind more than once that night.

Take some time to read the Book of James (New Testament). It's not very long, and he clearly outlines the relationship between faith and good works. Remember, our creator God has charged us all with the task of building The Kingdom here on Earth, to lovingly perform acts of charity and kindness, not begrudgingly, but with the joyful spirit of a giving heart.

Sadly, our overly-sensate society has been preaching the mantra "It's all about me." Shamefully, many of us have chosen to focus inwardly, ignoring the call to loving service of those in need. We respond with half-hearted excuses of not having enough time, or of not knowing what needs to be done, or to rationalizing that "Somebody else will take care of it."

Jesus said : "Whatsoever you do for the least of my people, that you do unto me."

This Christmas, shed the insanity of the shopping malls, and spend some time giving the gift of you. It's not that hard...honest! My father is fond of saying, "It doesn't have to be a major production." Do something!

Visit a sick friend, bring food to the local food bank, pray for someone, work for a few hours in a soup kitchen, send a letter to one of our troops over-seas, volunteer for one of the many ministries at your Church or Synagogue, and the Blessings that you give, will be returned to you 1000 fold. (Plus you get a really neat warm feeling inside knowing that you bore good fruit from your tree.)

Bottom line: If you're not serving somebody, than you better be serving someone who is.

Via con Dios,

Marty

Drifting deeper into Darkness

Brothers & Sisters,

Just as dark, ominous, clouds form in our November skies, so too are they forming in the halls and chambers of our newly elected Government.

Clearly, the selection of Barack Obama to be our next President is a deeply disturbing event, especially to those of us who are Christian.

I find it hard to fathom that a man who so openly supports the slaughter of innocent human life through abortions, who wants to overturn the ban on partial birth abortions, who supports gay "marriages" , who has little to no practical experience, who will raise taxes on small to medium sized business ,which in this painful recession will throw us into a Depression (eg. What Herbert Hoover did in the 20's), and who associates himself with notoriously shady characters, can be chosen to lead our Republic.

To be honest, he doesn't even respect our Flag! (more on that later)

I am forced then to conclude that the majority of people who voted for this man either did not do enough research or were collectively mesmerized by this charismatic Celebrity Senator touting his nebulous, well financed, but ultimately empty, message of "Change", or both.

On an equally appalling note, exit polls conducted by Gallup and Reuters showed that just about 43% of our Catholic brethren voted for Obama, and that just over 50% who share that faith do not consider abortion to be problematic or evil.

My Brothers and Sisters, this is precisely what I mean when I speak of the Culture of Death. A culture so deluded and distracted by false gods, and watered down moral values, that we have turned a blind eye on just how far we have fallen!

America has become the Rome of AD 400: Fat, Dumb, and Happy, filled to satiety with all manner of lustfullness and deceit . We have only ourselves to blame, yet we will try to assign blame elsewhere, shunning responsibilty that by it's very nature is defined as accepting the consequences of our behavior.

So now what? The selection of Mr. Obama has been allowed by God for a reason, and as Christians we must be confident in the wisdom of the Lord. This is not the time for us to crawl with limp resignation into our "hidey-holes". Now more than ever we must re-dedicate ourselves to fight for what is right and truthful under the Law.

I will close with Psalm 42: 2-3 "God is our refuge and our strength, an ever-present help in our distress. Therefore, we fear not, thought the earth be shaken and mountains plunge into the depths of the sea."

Be well. Be strong.
